Can i ask you somethings??

    Hi Guys! Sorry if i talk to you in english but i don't know the german language!


    I want make some self made modification.


    I want ask you some things about my Golf IV 1.6 16v 08/2002! 77 Kw


    What is the best gear oil in your opinion for better shift ? The VW wants G052726A2 gear ioil but what type of oil is it? Is it a sinthetic? What is its grade? Is it a GL-5? Can sosbstitute it with another sinthetic oil like a 75W90?


    Can i eliminate the central muffler exhaust and put a straight tube instead of it. Do some gain in sound and performance or i must put also a terminal sport muffler?


    If i put an K&N direct ait intake filter (not panel) must i modify the ecu?


    Can i eliminate the EGR valve? do it some gain in performances?



    Do you know some other simple engine modifications for this model?

    Yes you can install a straight pipe instead of the muffler, im not sure if thats legally in italy, you should check that first.

    Whats the EGR valve ? I dont know what that is.
    Sounds a bit like our AGR, but perhaps you can clarify that.

    Actually there arent many guys around who mod their 1.6 engines, the gain you get from simple mods like engine chipping or exhaust mods is not really worth the money you spend for it. :(
    The best would be to do a engine swap or buy a better car/engine.
