Hi Guys! Sorry if i talk to you in english but i don't know the german language!

I want make some self made modification.

I want ask you some things about my Golf IV 1.6 16v 08/2002! 77 Kw

What is the best gear oil in your opinion for better shift ? The VW wants G052726A2 gear ioil but what type of oil is it? Is it a sinthetic? What is its grade? Is it a GL-5? Can sosbstitute it with another sinthetic oil like a 75W90?

Can i eliminate the central muffler exhaust and put a straight tube instead of it. Do some gain in sound and performance or i must put also a terminal sport muffler?

If i put an K&N direct ait intake filter (not panel) must i modify the ecu?

Can i eliminate the EGR valve? do it some gain in performances?

Do you know some other simple engine modifications for this model?

    Thanks in advance

I know that you are very good Guys in VW techinc!

HI Guy! I'm from Italy and i have finded this forum on the net with a search engine. I want show you my problem cause i have seen that you are very expert in VW Golf IV. This is my problem.

I have buyed a used Golf 1.6 16 v 77 KW of the year 2002 with 23500 Kms on it. The shift lever is very hard on cold motor and in first and second gear. I have just changed the oil with a 75W80 100% sinthetic + ptfe additive, it is better but the problem persists! Someone has told me that i must verify the leverage of the gearbox. In particular the position of the command levers respect the shift lever. They have told me that it is a procedure to do. I must know it!

Anyone know the correct procedure to do??

I want resolve this problem by myself if i can!

    Thanks in advance :)
